Our visit from author, Jonathan Miller was very inspiring! We learned about the process of writing and illustrating books and certainly enjoyed taking adventures with “Sammy the Wonder Dachshund”. Thanks Mr. Miller! 0

Patty cake in first grade? You must be joking! No, actually first graders have been practicing some fancy hand moves with partners to go along with one of our Open Court stories, Mary Mack. We are using patty cake as part of our morning “Brain Yoga” (a version of Brain Gym) warm up, as we start our day off with “cross-lateral” movements each day. First graders have learned that when our arms and legs move across the midline of our bodies, both sides of our brains are activated and become ready to focus and learn new information! Cool! We love our morning “Brain Yoga”! If your child is struggling to focus during homework, you may want to try out some of our handy tricks! Ask your child to teach you how to warm up the left and right sides of the brain! Check out the links below to learn more about it! 0

Wow! Summer is almost here and it has been extra HOT on the playground. Please remember to send a water bottle to school with your child if you’d like. The students have been super hot and thirsty. Please make sure water bottles are able to seal completely. Thanks! 0
